I am a listener. I was born the youngest (by 9 years) of 4 sons and was placed in a position to observe my older brothers, analyzing their successes and mistakes. I deem this a fortunate relationship and it's helped me become who I am today.
I have a long history in Customer Service. I started in the fast food industry making sure everyone I came into contact with had the best product and had a pleasant experience. I knew my customers. We talked about their Caribbean scrapbooking adventures, trips to visit their mother in the hospital and whatever else was going on in their life. This continued on into my Verizon Wireless call center positions. Starting from an agent, I moved up into a QA position where I was able to train other agents how to have empathy, and react to different personas. I did the same with Supervisors when they coached their own agents.
User Experience has a core in selfless service. This is important and I hope to be paired with a team who shares this mindset.
